IRA beneficiary
IRA owner wants the primary beneficiary to be his second wife, but if she does not use the money before she dies, the remainder is to go to his daughter not his second wife’s kid. Is there anyway to do this without setting up trusts?

Nothing would be as effective as a QTIP trust. Other more direct efforts such as splitting IRA accounts with different beneficiaries carry the potential for unintended consequences such as the spouse’s kid ending up with a share.
