IRA Transfer after RBD
Can someone who is 78 do a direct transfer of an IRA before the RMD has been taken for that year? I know you can’t roll over an RMD, but I am not sure if you can do a direct transfer to another custodian, and then complete the RMD for that tax year.

Yes. The IRA owner just needs to satisfy the RMD from the receiving IRA by the applicable deadline.
