Site logs me out each time I leave

Can anyone help me with my problem on this site? I have been reviewing and posting on this site for a couple of years. All of a sudden about two weeks ago I am automatically logged out each time I leave the site, even after signing in and checking the block to keep me logged in. 🙁 I sent an email to the webmaster a couple of days ago, but no response.

Also recently getting a new site when I do sign in. It wasn’t there a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Tom,
I forwarded your post to Patrick and Ryan -Ed Slott’s staff members.

Hope they can help.

I seem to be having the same issues, and when I re-enter my log-in informtion, it takes me to somewhere called the member area, but it’s still on irahelp.com.

Tom – I believe it your computer, I am not having that problem from any of my computers. You may had inadvertantly set it to delete cookies immediately, which might log you out. Have you added a new security system lately?

With browser open, go to “Tools”; “Internet Options”; “General”. At bottom of page, make sure “History” days are not set to 0. I use 20 days.

Tom, you mentioned IE versions. Have you also been using other browsers? Some of them, such as the new Google Chrome browser are not compatible with various message boards………

Hi there,

Not really sure if you are still having this issue, but it is likely a cookie issue.

It seems to work fine for us. If you open multiple browsers at once, it may not work as well – depending on how it is configured.

Also, not sure if you are saving any “bookmarks” or anything for your logins. But if you try to clear your cookies and then login from a fresh start, that might work as well.

Lastly, other anti-spyware software you may have installed may be influencing it. It’s hard to say without more information.

Still occurring.
Yesterday I was in the middle of a post, and had to leave it to tend to other matters. When I returned to the post a few hours later, and clicked submit, I was taken to the login screen, and the entire post was lost and had to be rewritten.
If you are in the middle of a post and need to break for any period, it may make sense to copy and paste the post in another program such as Word , so that you do not lost what you have already typed.
For all other message boards and pass-word required websites, the information is stored-allowing an automatic login. The issue seems to be limited to this board.

Tom,
I don’t know if something was fixed, or if it was a coincidence , but I logged in yesterday using the Log In option at the bottom of the message board/screen ( under the “Who is Online” section), instead of the log-in option at the top right hand corner . I am still logged in . So it appears to be tied to which of the log-in options you use.
Try that and see if it works.

Denise

You’re welcome.
It has always been there.

Hope it works.
Denise
