I have a client who turned 701/2 May 16 2009, with the suspension of distribution requirements in 2009 can he defer his 1st distribution to 2011? If not will he be required to take this distribution and also the one for this year. Thanks

The 2009 RMD was waived not deferred, but the 2010 RMD must be taken no later than 12/31/2010.
