MRD with older spouse
Is the Uniform Lifetime Table used when the sole beneficiary for the entire year is a spouse more than 10 years older? Or should the Joint Life Expectancy Table be used? Thank you.

The Uniform Table applies unless the sole beneficiary spouse is more than 10 years YOUNGER. For the spouse that is more than 10 year older that had an IRA, they would use the joint life table for their RMD calculation. The joint life table never increases the RMD vrs the uniform table.
