Best Free Conversion Analysis Software?
I only have one client for whom a conversion really makes sense. I don’t feel it is worth the price to pay for the Brentmark product for one client. I’ve run the scenario on the calculator provided by Vanguard and it does a decent job including some analysis of future generations, but the reports could be better. This client will not need any of his IRA to live on in retirement, will always be in the top bracket, and is not exceptionally charitable at this time. They also have plenty of assets outside the IRA to pay the tax.
Any other suggestions for online calculators?

I am in the same boat but I could not find any that fit my situation, all of them focus on withdrawls at some point. I am working on a spreadsheet that shows the IRA with RMD taken, taxed and invested in a side fund, plus the lumpsum tax put into a side fund. Then I add those three accounts up and compare to the roth. Even with higher taxes in the future the three accounts beat the Roth value for over 15 years but over the long term the Roth wins out.
