recoverable trust and gift from the trust
Hello,
I have a question for you regarding a trust vs. gifting from the assets under the trust.
Parents set up a recoverable trust and transferred all their assets including a property into the trust. Now they want to give a piece of land under the trust as a gift to their son. Which of the following transactions is better for estate planning: transfer the land out of the trust to someplace else, then give to the son as a gift or give the land as a gift directly from the trust? Why?
Thanks.

A trust cannot make a gift but an individual can. The asset must be removed from the trust before it can be given away.
