Recharacterization prior to filing 2010 taxes
In case i go over into the next tax bracket by converting too much, will this strategy work?
* Convert before deadline tomorrow
* Get W2’s end of Jan., plug numbers into tax program, calculate tax effect of conversion
* Recharacterize portion (or all) BEFORE april 15 file date?

You have until your tax filing due date PLUS extensions (generally October 15) to recharacterize. After December 31 it makes no difference if you recharacterized before April 15th or October 15th.
