Land Holdings in IRA

I have a potential client who is looking to move there IRA from the trust company it is currently held in to a new institution. She is very unhappy with the service she is receiving since there was a change of management. This ordinarily would be very simple to accommodate with institution that I work with however these IRA’s are holding land, property that her late husband had purchased with IRA and was to develop and sell but was unable to do so before his passing. I’d really like to give her a recommendation on another financial institution or trust company that would accommodate this type of IRA. Any suggestion on institutions I should start researching for her??

I’m just looking for some recommendations for custodians that won’t cost my client an arm and a leg. Any company names would help to start comparing.

thanks

Custodians that hold unusual assets always charge more fees than those with traditional IRA investments.

PENSCO is one who may handle this kind of asset – I’m not sure how their rates compare to others.
