I bonds in IRA

I have a client that holds some US Savings Bonds I-bonds in his retirement plan. He wants to terminate the plan and roll over to an IRA and keep the I bonds as they are paying around 7 or 8% for several more years. I’m looking for a trust co. that will allow the I-bonds to be held in the IRA. I’ve talked to Lincoln Trust Co. and they say they can do it. Anyone have any experience with them or have other suggestions?

Lincoln Trust is one of the ones we’ve used as custodian for non-traditional investments in IRAs. We’ll sometimes check with more than one when we have a client who wants to invest in non-traditional assets to see which is the best fit for the particular situation.

Thanks for your reply. Any other custodians you care to mention?
