Absolutely. As long as the person has income from self-employment, a SEP contribution can be made. There are age discrimination rules that apply to employer plans, including SEPs. The age limit applies to traditional IRAs only, even Roth IRAs allow contributions after 70-1/2 if there is enough earned income to support one.
