Does a Roth beneficiary have to take out distributions based on his longevity? or is he not required to take a distribution except at his discretion?

A non spouse beneficiary on a Roth IRA must take the same RMD as would apply to a traditional IRA that was inherited by a non spouse.
If the Roth beneficiary is the surviving spouse, the spouse can assume ownership and avoid RMDs.
