mREITs in an IRA
Does anyone know whether one can own mortgage oriented REITs such as AGNC, NLY or TWO or EFTs like REM in a Roth IRA?
These REIT equities use leverage to boost their yield, and someone told me there is an IRS prohibition against owning these type of REITs in an IRA.

They can be held in an IRA. There is no probibited transaction, but there are considerable investment risks as there would be with anything involving high leverage.
