unemployed / need to buy life insurance to protect mortgage

Hi Ed,

I am currently living with my parents caring for them for the upcoming year. I have rented out my home. outstanding balance of my mortgage is $180,000.00. I have 3 daughters . they are all working and have graduated from college. in case something happens to me I want to have some type of protection to cover the outstanding mortgage balance. what do you recommend? from time to time I get a package from AAA for life insurance that is up to $200,000.00. it is a monthly cost of 29.99. should I do it. I also have not done a will either. do I really need an attorney? could I go a website and just print a form? could I just write a piece of paper what I want done? Please advise. I have used your services in my previous job and it made me look really good in front of my customers. Thank you for doing what you are doing.

Sounds like term insurance which maybe your best bet because it will be the most cost effect type of life insurance. I would be careful to make sure that it is term and not AD&D i.e. accidental death and dismemberment – which is another form of cheap insurance.
