spouse died

man named his wife as beneficiary of his ira acct.. she dies and he remarries . the original wifes name was not removed as beneficiary…who inherets his ira acct.. he has living children..

Since his designated beneficiary is deceased, the IRA agreement provisions determine who would inherit his IRA. Those provisions would likely make his estate or his current spouse the default beneficiaries. Once a beneficiary passes, the IRA owner should name a new beneficiary on the account to be sure the account will go to the desired party.

Just curious, did the man pass or is this just a question as to what might happen?
