RMD from 401k while still employed

If an employee works beyond age 70 1/2 must he take RMD from the 401k?



Normally no. However, a plan is allowed to require that RMDs from the plan start at 70.5 for all employees, but not many do. Also, if the employee is a 5% owner, RMDs must begin at 70.5.
