tax treatment of Inherited IRA
Client has been told the IRA he has inherited from his father can receive a special tax treatment because his father was born before 1936. Can anyone provide additional information where I may find specific detail. Thanks, Mary

Being born before 1935 does NOT affect inherited IRAs, but it does affect inherited qualified employer plans. The various options for an inherited qualified plan of participants born before 1/2/1936 can be found in Pub 575 under “Lump Sum Distributions”.
