Making Roth Contributions for a Retired 73 Year Old

I have a client who is 51 years old and still working. Her husband is 73 years old and already retired and taking RMDs from his IRAs. Is there any reason why she can’t make a $6,500 Roth IRA contribution on his behalf plus her contribution of $6,500 on an annual basis?

If she has sufficient earned income  and joint modified AGI is not too high to qualify, a spousal contribution to a Roth IRA can be made for him as there is no age limit for Roth contributions.
