Roth contribution after filing tax return

Sir/Madam,

I have a client who would like to make a 2013 Roth IRA contribution before April 15th. She has already filed her 2013 tax return. She is well below the income limits so I see no problem here. I’m not aware of any IRS forms that she would need to be completed in light of this. Am I missing something?

Thank you,

Chris

No. Roth contributions are not reported on her 2013 return…………….UNLESS her income for 2013 was low enough for the Savers credit (Form 8880).  If so, then a credit on up to 2,000 of any retirement plan contribution can be taken on Form 8880.
