Congressional Review of “Stretch” Feature
I have read in the Wall Street Journal that congress is looking into curtailing the current stretch feature for IRA’s. They indicated that beneficiary changes for spouses would not be changed but other non-spouse beneficiaries would have five years to move out inherited IRA balances. Have you heard amy more on this IMPORTANT topic?

This is in the Administration’s Revenue Proposals for Fiscal Year 2015. It was also in the Administration’s Revenue Proposals for Fiscal Year 2014. It was in some bills in Congress that were not passed. There is no way to predict whether this, or any of the other items in the Administration’s Revenue Proposals, will be enacted. If it is, we’ll all know about it very quickly.
