Charitable contributions directly from your IRA
Was the law allowing IRA holders to make direct donations to charities from their RMD’s extended for 2014?

Not as of this time. I expect it to be considered by Congress, and hopefully approved, sometime between now and early January. If it goes into January I expect it to be retroactive as it was several years ago. I took my QCDs in mid October in hopes it will be approved. If not, then I will count them are part of my itemized deductions if I end up itemizing this year (not likely though). Tom D.

Can a QCD be used to fund a charitable annuity?

No. A qualified charity does not include one in which the donor receives a benefit for the contribution. Donor advised funds are also ineligible.
