IRA Beneficiary
Do you need the consent of spouse if you do NOT want him/her to be the IRA beneficiary? Do her signatures have to be notarized if he/she agrees to not be the beneficiary?

For IRA accounts, a spousal waiver is only needed in community property states. Either state law or the IRA custodian may also require a notarized signature.

As a matter of policy, some IRA Custodians may require a spousal waiver even if the IRA owner and their spouse currently reside in a state with no community propery laws.
