New legislation changes regarding File and Suspend strategy

I recently filed and suspended for social security. My wife who will turn 66 in November 2015 received her initial spousal benefit check several weeks ago. My wife does not have enough credits to file on her own record. I am currently 68 years old. I will file for social security when I am 70. Does the new legislation have any affect on my situation. I tried to understand the legislation; however, it was way too complicated.

You have already completed your filing, so you are grandfathered in. And if you hadn’t, there would be a 6 month grace period to do so. Here is an up to date summary from Michael Kitces:  https://www.kitces.com/blog/congress-ends-file-and-suspend-restricted-application-and-other-voluntary-suspension-social-security-strategies/
