Non-qualified Stretch Start Date
Hello. I understand this is not an IRA question, but goes along similar lines with respect to RMD’s. What is the RBD for a beneficiary of a non-qualified annuity choosing the non-qualified stretch option?

Beneficiaries do not have RBDs, but in most cases the first stretch distribution would be due no later than 12/31 of the year following the year of owner’s death. The 5 year rule may also be a contract option. Contract beneficiary provisions are also subject to state laws.
