RMD’s on Roth IRA?

I heard that there are proposals to have Roth IRA have a RMD as traditional IRA’s currently have. Any news on such laws? I assume that the Roth RMD would be separate from the traditional RMD? How would this actually work?

I would not be concerned with potential legislation that has not even been introduced yet, much less passed. There have been no recent discussions in Congress regarding this idea.  If such a provision ever did pass, the Roth IRA RMDs would probably be the same as the current Roth 401k RMDs that already exist. If taxpayers limited their distributions to just the RMD, the distributions would be non taxable, but growth of the Roth would obviously be impaired to some degree.
