2016 will be an RMD distribution year, but the required beginning date will be 4/1/2017 allowing the 2016 RMD to be deferred to the first 3 months of 2017 if desired. But a requested direct rollover erases the option to delay the RMD, so if the rollover is requested this year, the RMD will have to be distributed before or at the same time as the rollover is done.
