In Kind transfer as RMD

Can you take stock that is in an IRA as part of your RMD?

Yes, in kind distributions count toward the RMD as well as cash. But because value of shares fluctuate, it takes some cooperation from the IRA custodian to make the RMD total to the exact amount. If you have a taxable brokerage account with your IRA custodian, they can just transfer the shares into it.
