Non-spousal IRA

If the beneficiary of an inherited, non-spousal IRA names his wife as the beneficiary, and then dies. Is his wife able to put beneficiaries on the IRA, or does the money go to the wife’s estate?

The wife, or any beneficiary, can name their own successor beneficiaries as soon as they have the IRA re titled. The RMDs for a non spousal inherited IRA must continue based on the method used by the original designated beneficiary.
