My client turns 70 1/2 later this year. As I understand it, one has to be 70 1/2 to make a QCD, but surely that refers to the year in which one turns 70 1/2. We don’t have to wait until she’s 70 years and 6 months old, do we?

Client must wait until 70.5 to the day to do a QCD. If he processed one too soon, please advise.
