Roth IRA
If a husband and wife are both contributing to their 401K plans on a before tax basis, are they still able to make a Roth IRA contribution if their MAGI is below $186,000 for 2017

Yes, they can make Roth contributions. The pre tax 401k contributions also lowers MAGI which may help in coming under the 186k threshold.
