Inherited IRA Registration
Mary Smith inherited her Aunts IRA – she opened an Inherited IRA and deposited the funds into this account. 2 years later Mary Smith gets married and takes her husbands last name. Can she change the registration on her Inherited IRA to reflect her married name?

Yes, she can change her name as beneficiary and also add her husband as her successor beneficiary if she wants to. Her inherited IRA custodian may request documentation (such as copy of marriage cert) to prove that the new name is hers and not a different person since that obviously is not allowed.
