if a client changes the name on the annuity from his name to a trust. does that make the gain in the annuity or on a mutual fund taxable since the name changed?

we are looking at the name change from his annuity to:A chartibable lead trust…His or he and his wife will be the grantorwould the transfer trigger tax on the gains with this type of trust?thank you,Douglas

The transfer triggers tax on the gains unless the trust is a grantor trust such as a Revocable LIving Trust.
