pension to IRA
Can a client who doesn’t need his pension payments and assuming the administrator of the pension allows it, do a trustee to trustee transfer on a monthly basis to an IRA? he would do no witholding obviously if this was possible. Any help would be appreciated.

If this is a typical DB or cash balance plan and the payments are for life or joint life OR will be more than 10 years in duration, the distributions are not eligible for rollover. This is a tax code rule, not the decision of the plan administrator.
