I thought that I had read on some Ed Slot blog that NYState did not tax IRA conversions to Roth IRA. Could someone answer this question. I called the State Tax Dept. and person who answered said he didn’t know for sure because info didn’t specifically address the conversion question. He did say that he thought that if something was taxable on the federal level, it was usually taxable on the state level.
