Roth funding while taking RMDs from traditional IRA
Taking RMDs from trad. IRA, but still lack most of RMD, and will likely take it late in the calendar year. If otherwise eligible, can I do a Roth Conversion before I’ve taken the full RMD from the trad IRA? I understand that it won’t affect the AMD amount.

No. You must complete the RMD for the traditional IRA before converting any amount from that traditional IRA to Roth. The first amounts distributed from your traditional IRA are considered to be RMD until the RMD for that account has been satisfied, and RMDs are not eligible for rollover. A Roth conversion is treated as a taxable rollover.
