QCD made out to charity this year, client only wanted QCD last year
Client received a check made out to a charity this year for their RMD. They wanted the RMD money for themselves this year. Can they simply have the charity sign the check over to them?

Not sure if once the charity has possession that they can refund the donation. Obviously, the client cannot report a QCD if the charity does refund it. Or if the client still has the check, they could probably return it to the IRA Custodian for re issue as well.
