SEP IRA

Can an eligible part-time employee choose not to participate in a SEP plan established by her employer?

  • The employer must make employer contributions to all eligible employees.
  • If the employee refuses to even open a SEP IRA account, the employer has the authority to open it on their behalf and make the contribution.
  • An eligible employee has no ability to decline participation in a SEP IRA.

Thanks, makes sense to me.
