Early this month there was an article in the WSJ that either Mr. Slott authored or was quoted in about the SECURE Act. I saved it but the link won’t open, I searched it on the WSJ website but their search engine leaves much to be desired, could not locate. So I am asking if you all might know where I can locate a copy of the article.
In the article it talked about Qualified Charitable Donations from an IRA. The part that was particularly of interest to me was about an individual can not do a QCD to their own Foundation. I have a client that thinks he can do this and in the past I told him I did not think this would be “an arms length” transaction therefore not qualifying as a QCD. The article would provide him with confirmation that it is not allowed. Any help, as always, would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.
