income from IRA but not for RMD
Have client who is 69 this year and has taking income from his IRA’s for past 5yrs.
If he wants to stop this income for 3yrs until he turns 72:
a. is he allowed to?
or
b. does he have to continue to take withdrawals?
Thank you
Douglas

He hasn’t reached his first RMD year yet, and that will be the year he reaches 72. Therefore, he can stop distributions until that time.
