2020 RMD
If I do not take my RMD in 2020, as allowed under the CARES Act, will 2020’s RMD amount have to be added to next year’s RMD or eliminated completely?

By not taking your 2020 RMD, your 12/31/2020 balance will be higher than it would have been, although a non RMD distribution or conversion equal to what your RMD would have been will erase this factor. And due to the virus, your year end 2020 balance will likely be much lower due to investment losses, and that will depress your 2021 RMD even though your RMD % will be a little higher due to an additional year of age.

It’s eliminated completely, not just deferred.
