IRA RMD from husband to wife
Husband was taking His RMD and passed
Wife is only 70 yrs old
She transferred his IRA to her own.
Am I correct in stating that even though the husband was taking his RMD, once the account is transferred to the wife, she can now wait until 72 to take an RMD for the IRA?
Thank you
Doug

Probably, but considering the Secure Act changes along with the 2020 RMD waiver, to determine her accurate RMD requirement, would need to know both their DOBs and husband’s DOD.
