401k Contributions for SS Earnings Test
Can someone who is working between the age of 62 and FRA choose to defer money into their 401k to help with the earnings test, or is the earnings test calculated prior to those contributions? Thanks

Earnings test income uses the amount in Box 1 of your W-2. A pre tax 401k contribution therefore will reduce Box 1, but a Roth 401k contribution will not.
