Pro Rata Roth IRA rule

Client is married. Husband has Traditional IRA assets. Wife has no Traditional IRA assets. Can I utilize backdoor Roth for the wife in 2020, where the husband’s traditional ira assets will not count towards the pro rata calculation for the wife? Only looking to do backdoor roth for wife.

She can do the back door. Husband’s accounts are not a factor for purposes of the wife’s back door Roth. The conversion will be reported on her Form 8606, and that form only holds one SSN, the SSN of the individual whose IRA is being converted.
