RMD for deceased owner’s beneficiaries
My client died in 2020 was over the age of 80 and left her IRA to her four children. She did not take her RMD for 2020 before she died. Do her children have to take her RMD for 2020 or does the waiver apply based on the Cares Act?

The waiver applies, so the year of death RMD requirement is not an issue this year. The children are subject to the Secure Act, and therefore their inherited IRA must be drained by 12/31/2030, but there will be no annual RMD requirement.
