Deferred compensation

My client an Allstate agent moved to Florida in 2019 and retired at age 57 In 2020 he received his first non qualified deferred compensation (409A) payment $365,000. He recieved a 1099 NEC box 1. Should he report this amount on a Sch C. My question is is he subject to Self Employment taxes? Also, if this is the case can he still contribute to a SEP, and also deduct his Health Insurance Premiums. Peter ALcarese, CFP

The payer reporting this on Form 1099-NEC seems improper.
