IRA accumulating trust — trustee fees
• I understand that in an accumulating see-through IRA trust all the beneficiaries must be living breathing people to qualify for the 10-year rule. This means that a charity or estate cannot be a beneficiary.
• In reviewing my IRA trust, I came across the following statement “I direct that neither income nor principal of this Trust may be used or applied for payment of my debts, taxes, expenses of administration, or other claims against my estate; nor for payment of estate, inheritance or similar transfer taxes due on account of my death”
• I assume the above statement covers estate expenses, and that it is OK to pay for ongoing trust expenses such as a trustee fees. Am I correct?
