Inherited IRA and Back Door Roth
My son inherited a large Traditional IRA from his mother. He’d like to take distributions to minimize taxes annually but that would boost his income over the Roth income limits. Can he still do a back door Roth?

Yes, an inherited IRA does not affect the back door Roth. The inherited IRA balance is not shown anywhere on Form 8606 used to report IRA non deductible contributions and conversions.
