SECURE Act
Grandparent wants to name minor grandchild as the beneficiary of a trust which gives the Trustee the discretion to accumulate or distribute withdrawls from retirement plans. The intended remainder beneficiaries are older than the non-EDB grandchild. Post-SECURE Act, do the respective ages of beneficiaries remain a relevant factor for any purpose when the primary beneficiary is not an EDB? Thank you.

The ages of the remainder beneficiaries are no longer a factor when the 10 year rule applies, including a situation where an EDB elects the 10 year rule if owner passes prior to RBD.
