Spousal Continuation
The deceased husband has a SEP IRA. If the spouse decided to have the IRA in her name vs transferring into an inherited IRA would the spouse be able to rollover her 401K to the IRA once it’s in her name? And would the spousal continuation account type still be SEP-IRA or IRA?

The surviving spouse can elect to assume ownership of the inherited SEP, and then she should do a direct transfer into a non SEP TIRA account to avoid any confusion about any contributions she wishes to make in the future. She can then do a direct rollover of her 401k into that IRA.
