What are you referring to as a life time exemption? Will she need to withdraw much more than her RMDs?

LIFE TIME ESTATE TAX EXEMPTION. SHE WILL NOT NEED MORE THAN RMD EVER.

Your combined exemption is 23.4 million for 2021. Whether your gross estate is in an IRA or not does not affect the limits, although taxes paid will reduce your gross estate somewhat. This site is not geared for detailed estate planning and you would not want to reveal extensive personal financial detail on line anyway. You should consult an estate planning firm, particularly if your joint assets exceed 2 million.
